Scripture:
“Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9 (NRSVUE)
As we come to the end of another conference year in The United Methodist Church, we pause to give thanks for God’s faithfulness. On July 1, 2026, we will begin a new conference year—a fresh season filled with new opportunities for ministry, discipleship, and service.
Transitions often invite us to reflect on where we have been and where God is leading us next. They also remind us of the importance of remaining strong and deeply connected to God. Just as branches draw life from the vine, we receive our strength, wisdom, and hope by staying close to the One who never leaves us.
There will always be moments that challenge our faith, test our patience, or stretch us beyond our comfort zones. Yet Scripture reminds us that our courage does not come from our own abilities. Our strength comes from God’s abiding presence. When we spend time in prayer, immerse ourselves in Scripture, worship faithfully, and encourage one another, we become rooted in God’s love and equipped for whatever lies ahead.
As we enter this new conference year, let us do so with optimism and expectation. God is not finished with us. God has great things in store for each of us as individuals, and God has great things in store for our church. New relationships will be formed. Lives will be transformed. Opportunities to serve will emerge. Together, we will continue to grow in faith and share Christ’s love with our community.
Let us step into this new season with hopeful hearts, unwavering faith, and a renewed commitment to stay close to God. As we remain connected to the One who is our source of life, we can face the future with confidence, knowing that God is already preparing the way.
Prayer: Gracious and loving God, thank You for walking with us throughout this conference year. As we prepare to begin a new one, strengthen our faith and draw us ever closer to You. Help us remain rooted in Your love, steadfast in hope, and faithful in service. Fill us with courage to embrace new opportunities and confidence to trust where You are leading. We look forward with joy, believing that You have great things in store for each of us and for our church. Guide us, inspire us, and use us for Your glory. Amen.
