Worship

Worship is at the Heart of our Life Together

From our weekly Sunday services and special celebrations throughout the church year to weddings, funerals, music, and other meaningful moments, we gather to worship God, grow in faith, and share in the life of our church community.

Special Services

Saint Francis holds special worship services on key days in the Church year (Christmas, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and major Saint’s Days). Each year, we also hold multiple Choral Evensongs, an All Souls’ Requiem Eucharist, and Advent Lessons and Carols.

Weddings & Funerals

These core beliefs guide everything we do. They shape our mission, define our values, and inspire us to make a meaningful impact every day.

Weddings

Weddings at St. Francis are a joyful celebration of a couple beginning their life together. Because of space, staff time, and the preparation involved, weddings are available only to current or former active members of the parish.

Couples who wish to be married at St. Francis should also plan to complete 7 to 8 preparation meetings with one of our priests.

Funerals

We are glad to offer a simple funeral service for anyone in the community seeking Christian prayers and burial. Funerals at St. Francis follow the Book of Common Prayer and our parish funeral policies and fee schedule.

Columbarium space is limited, and niches are available only to active members of the congregation. Please review our funeral policy and fees for more information.

Music & Choirs

Ask any parishioner what is special about this church, and music is sure to be among the top responses. Our congregation especially appreciates the offerings of the Anglican choral tradition, stewarded by the leadership of organist and choirmaster John Widmann. John leads an excellent choir consisting of both volunteers and professionals in exquisite settings of hymns, anthems, and other sacred music.

The St. Francis Choir

The St. Francis Choir is comprised of amateur and professional musicians, and participates in Sunday services on a weekly basis. We rehearse weekly on Thursday evenings and are always ready to welcome new singers and instrumental musicians who wish to share their gifts.

If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact John Widmann.

Sunday School Singers

Our Sunday School singers rehearse during Sunday School and periodically after church.

They both learn the principles of good musicianship and enrich our worship with an anthem or musical offerings about four times a year.

Annual Musicals

Music is an important part of worship at St. Francis. On special occasions such as Easter and Christmas Eve, our choir is joined by professional instrumentalists, and throughout the year we also welcome guest soloists, organ recitals, community orchestras, Christmas carol singalongs, and other musical offerings.

If you are interested in participating, please contact John Widmann.

Flower Dedications

If you have a special anniversary, birthday, or memorial that you’d like to commemorate, consider sponsoring the weekly altar flowers.

For a suggested donation of $80, which covers the cost of the flowers, the altar guild will make two arrangements that you are welcome to take home after worship.

In the bulletin, we will include the occasion or person who is being commemorated.

These memorials and commemorations help support the weekly work of the talented flower guild. Contact the office for instructions on how to give.
